PwC Russia's office in Vladikavkaz was officially opened on 17 April 2009. Taymuraz Mamsurov, Head of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, and Aleksandr Totoonov, Authorised Representative of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania to the Russian President, were present at the ceremony. PwC Russia's Peter Gerendasi, Managing Partner from 2007 to 2011, and Yana Zoloeva, Partner at PwC Russia, also attended. Before the office opening, PwC Russia and the Government of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania signed a cooperation agreement.
The region has a well-developed manufacturing base and diversified agricultural sector. Its economic indicators have demonstrated stable growth, attracting both foreign and Russian investors, who have successfully built up businesses in such sectors as non-ferrous metals, hydroelectricity, electronics and food production. The resort, recreation and tourism industry also offers promising economic development opportunities for the region.
Going forward, PwC Russia plans to strengthen its partnership with the region to foster a favourable economic, investment and social climate. PwC Russia works with local higher educational institutions on developing training programmes and recruitment initiatives. PwC’s clients in the region enjoy access to the full range of services, including audit under Russian and international standards, business consulting, and tax and legal services.
