PwC is committed to playing a leading role in building this sustainable future. We hold ourselves accountable for
PwC in Russia launched its formal Charity Programme in 2004. Since then, this has grown into a Corporate Responsibility Programme comprising four main areas: Marketplace, People, Environment and Community.
Our work in the business community brings us into contact with a wide circle of stakeholders. We maintain a constant dialogue with our clients, the most important of these, working to address their needs and enhance their value. PwC is an active participant in a number of business associations and professional organisations.
Additional initiatives include staying in contact with PwC alumni, regularly carrying out client satisfaction surveys and developing a responsible supply chain. Another element of our contribution to the marketplace is working with regional governments to increase regional investment appeal and improve their management skills to ultimately further develop and raise the quality of life in these regions.
In addition to community and environmental projects, PwC also invests in the health and wellness of its staff and their families. PwC makes every effort to be the employer of choice and to treat staff fairly and with respect. Ethics and diversity, both in terms of clients and staff, forms a cornerstone of our brand and practice.
PwC in Russia launched a Small Steps campaign to reduce our impact on the environment. We have reduced our travel emissions by using video and teleconferencing more extensively. We also travel by train instead of flying when possible and encourage our employees to use the metro instead of taxis. To improve waste management, we have taken steps to reduce paper and plastic consumption in our offices.
PwC's charity programmes support initiatives in child welfare, education and culture. For several years now, our firm has supported orphanages, participated in international charity programmes that raise funds for children in need, contributed to the development of musical talents and funded the restoration of historic and literary heritage sites in Russia. Another focus of our attention is Russian sport. We are an official sponsor of the CSKA hockey club, sponsor sport schools for children and support PwC’s own sport teams. We have also forged mutually beneficial links with universities, providing sponsorships and having our professionals give lectures and conduct workshops for students.
