1– 3 October 2008
Moscow, Russia
PricewaterhouseCoopers once again sponsored the fourth annual Mining and Exploration (Minex) Business Forum, which was held in Moscow on 1– 3 October 2008. PwC also set up a table at the event, where participants could pick up PwC mining and metals publications and talk with our EU&M consultants and representatives from the Business Development team.
The Minex Forum was designed as a communication platform where Russian and other CIS producers of gold, silver, copper, iron ore, coal, uranium, precious stones and industrial minerals could meet with investors, financiers, regulators, consultants, traders and equipment suppliers. Attending the forum were senior executives from many of Russia’s major mining companies (such as Norilsk Nickel, Polyus Gold, etc.). Over 450 delegates from Russia, the CIS, Western Europe, North America, Africa, Australia and Asia participated in the forum this year.
John Campbell, Metals and Mining leader at PwC Russia, opened the forum with а presentation on global trends in the mining industry, keying off our thought leadership publication “Mine: As good as it gets?".
Our participation in the conference is a good example of using our thought leadership to raise our stature in the industry.
