The Legal 500 Europe, Middle East & Africa 2013 rating shows that lawyers from PwC Legal are held in very high esteem by both clients and the rating's editors thanks to their successful completion of major projects in 2012, as well as the high level of their professional expertise in various areas of law.
In the 2013 rating, PwC Legal took several new positions and also improved on its results from the previous year. The following people from PwC Legal were recognised in this year's rating: Partner and Leader of legal practice Yana Zoloeva, Director Yana Proskurina and Senior Lawyer Evgeniy Gouk.
PwC Legal's Tax Dispute Resolution Group has traditionally held a top spot in the rating's second tier. Furthermore, the firm's St Petersburg-based Corporate law and M&A practice has maintained a solid position in the third tier.
PwC Legal significantly improved its standing this year in such highly competitive categories as Corporate and M&A (Moscow) and Energy and Natural Resources. In corporate law, our lawyers moved up from the fourth to the third tier and now hold a very strong position among major international law firms.
The Energy and Natural Resources practice's successful completion of a number of projects for major clients in 2012 helped it ascend from the fourth tier, which it joined just last year, to the third tier.
This year also marked the first time that the firm's Real Estate and Construction practice made an appearance in the rating as the editors featured it among other recommended firms in this category.
Our traditionally strong employment and immigration law team also managed to improve its position, advancing from the third to the second tier and surpassing some leading law firms.
