4 February 2014 - PwC Russia is pleased to announce the opening of its newest office in Rostov-on-Don. The firm’s tenth office in Russia has opened at a critical moment – three days before the start of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games of 2014 in Sochi. PwC is a Partner and the Official Professional Services Provider of the Sochi Games. As part of the firm’s high-level cooperation with the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee, PwC has been carrying out more than 70 projects related to the planning, preparing and staging of the Games, as well as such areas as taxation, HR management, sustainability, marketing, and financial planning and budgeting, among others.

On 4 February, current and potential PwC clients were invited to the official opening of the Rostov office, which is located in the Clover House Business Centre (139 Tekucheva Street). The formal opening ceremony itself was also held on 4 February in the conference hall of the Attache Hotel.

At an elegant reception to mark the occasion, Vyacheslav Solovyev, head of the Rostov office, welcomed the firm’s guests, who represented companies based in Russia’s Southern Federal District and some of PwC Russia’s major partners, among others.

The reception was followed by a presentation of PwC Academy programmes – DipIFR and CIMA – aimed at enhancing professional qualifications at the international level. Guests learned about preparation courses for the international ACCA, DipIFR and CIMA qualifications, and other PwC Academy programmes. A lively Q&A session followed the presentation.

Vyacheslav Solovyev commented:

“With our new office here in Rostov-on-Don we can now expand our outreach to local companies in southern Russia, and successfully respond to their needs. We plan to start by providing PwC Academy services – a series of popular training sessions that have been well received in Moscow and are now available to Rostov-based businesses. This way, we will go beyond our traditional audit practice to offer additional services.”

Today, PwC already has an established presence in southern Russia’s leading cities – Krasnodar, Sochi and Novorossiysk. And, now the firm is opening a full-service office in Rostov-on-Don. The challenges facing PwC’s newest regional office are fully in line with the firm’s strategy in other cities. First of all, this means developing a highly skilled talent pool, expanding the local market for audit and advisory services, and enhancing the host region’s long-term investment appeal.
