PwC and Sochi 2014

The XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games in the city of Sochi in 2014 are modern Russia’s chance to showcase itself to the world. PwC is extremely proud to have been entrusted by the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee to help plan, prepare and stage the Games – and to help deliver a larger legacy of socioeconomic development that the Games make possible.

An Agreement of Partnership between Sochi 2014 and PwC was signed by Sochi 2014 Organising Committee President Dmitry Chernyshenko and PwC Russia Advisory Managing Partner Robert Gruman on 23 March 2011 at an official ceremony in Krasnaya Polyana, Sochi. The signing ceremony was held on the final day of the 5th annual Coordination Commission visit by members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to the future site of the Games. Dmitry Kozak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, was also in attendance at the ceremony.

Dmitry Kozak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, said:

“Today’s signing of a Partnership Agreement with PwC is a seal of quality for the Sochi Olympiad. I would like to express my gratitude to PwC for this contract, and also for the diverse and multifaceted activities that the firm carries out across the Russian Federation.

“The preparation and staging of the Games will be carried out much more effectively than they otherwise would be without the participation of PwC.”
