20th CEO Survey

What’s on the minds of Russian CEOs?

About the survey

Every year, PwC conducts a global survey of the CEOs of major companies. The Annual Global CEO Survey is a flagship PwC survey, in which nearly 1,500 top corporate executives around the world take part.

The objective of the project is to identify key trends and patterns in the global economy that affect important management decision-making by leaders of the business establishment.

The Russian edition of the CEO Survey has been published since 2013. It presents more detailed findings from the Russian version of the survey. We compare these data with responses given by executives from other countries.

"More and more companies now realise that in today's world, cyber security has become an important aspect of business management, and the things that people, perhaps, did not pay attention to before have now become of the utmost importance."

Member of the Board of Directors and CEO, Alfa-Bank

"People will be more autonomous. You won’t need anybody or anything in order to entertain yourself, cure yourself, make necessary calculations, and, on the whole, live your life. You will be able to manage everything, make all your purchases from home and everything will be delivered to your doorstep. As a consequence, it will lead to a redistribution of services in the market."

"Russia has become phenomenally cheap in terms of assets, labour, in terms of many things. I think that you can achieve extremely high ROIs in Russia… You cannot find anything better so what you should do is buy it up immediately."

Sergey Monin
Chairman of the Managing Board, Raiffeisenbank

"Business is prone to meet external challenges and the ability to adapt in any conditions is actually our natural expertise. The question of whether there are more or less challenges depends on one's own perception. The stronger the company is, the easier it “digests” such threats."

"The number of cyber-attacks on our servers reaches one million per month. Therefore, on the one hand, digital technology is a huge drawback and would inevitably lead to additional costs because we have to defend ourselves… On the other hand, of course, with the new information technologies, many things can be done in a much more efficient manner."

Maxim Shirokov
CEO, Unipro PJSC

"The current situation in the power industry has started to change for the better, and it is noticeable. The prices of primary goods have stabilised after a long decline and begun to grow. It is hoped that this favourable trend will have a positive impact on other industries."
